In 1979, the Moody family of North Texas established Frontera Truck Parts & Equipment. Still owning and operating it today, three generations are working side-by- side to ensure that our 20-acre salvage yard is always fully stocked with the heavy equipment and parts commercial trucks need to keep fleets moving from coast to coast and beyond

Jerry Moody

Jerry is one of the founders of Frontera Truck Parts & Equipment and remains the owner today. Jerry started learning the truck parts business in 1972 working for Jimmy Bishop in Dallas. Then in 1979, Jerry opened Frontera Truck Parts & Equipment in Waxahachie, TX. Since then, Jerry has been fortunate enough to employ many of his family members at the company. He has formed many enduring friendships in this business and used it as a platform to share his Faith.

Brad Moody

Brad, Jerry’s son, began working at Frontera Truck Parts & Equipment while he was in High School in 1983 and then full time in 1987. He started working in the tire pile, sorting and separating tires, according to Jerry this was to make sure he wanted to work! Brad worked his way up to buying and learning the parts and eventually selling to customers. Jerry still gives Brad a hard time about the first customer Brad ever sold by himself and how he sold several pieces below market value! Now Brad does a little bit of everything as our general manager.

Kalien Moody Thomas

Kalien, Jerry’s granddaughter, began working at Frontera Truck Parts & Equipment in 2002 while she was still in high school. She always knew she wanted to be a part of the company but wasn’t sure where she belonged in this male-dominated industry. She began by learning to purchase garbage trucks with Jerry, processing titles, working her way up to the accounting office, and managing the office. Kalien is also responsible for the TERP documentation and making sure all of the photos and documents meet the required specifications. Kalien is currently serving on the TDLR Used Auto Parts Recyclers Advisory Board.

Donnie Thomas

Donnie, Kalien’s husband and Jerry’s grandson-in-law, joined Frontera Truck Parts & Equipment in 2012. Donnie was raised around classic muscle cars and learned about cars from his father. When he decided to join the company, he did not have an extensive background in diesel motors or commercial trucks. In just a few short years, Donnie learned a lot and now manages the buying and selling of garbage truck parts and garbage trucks.
